Jack Kristiansen exists in the composition books and computer files of William Aarnes. Aarnes has published two collections, both with Ninety-Six Press: Learning to Dance (1991) and Predicaments (2001). His work has appeared in Tipton Poetry Journal and FIELD, and he occasionally writes reviews for Southern Literary Review. He received a PhD in English from Johns Hopkins University and teaches at Furman University, where he offers a freshman course on ekphrastic poetry each year. He lives in Clemson, South Carolina.
